February In-Need Giveaway

Monthly Giveaways.
Modified Momma Reviews is introducing a new page on this blog. It will be devoted to a monthly giveaway for parents who would like to try cloth diapering or for parents who just can't afford the start-up.
Nikki and I both know how hard it is to start cloth diapering, financially speaking. When I first started cloth diapering, I spent 300+ dollars on just diapers. Granted, my family has saved money in the long run, we weren't necessarily able to afford it all at that point in time.

Now, because Nikki and I both love cloth diapering so much, we would like to give back. Please understand that we can't help everyone who asks. I (Hurley) will be buying these gifts out of my own pocket (unless we can get sponsors later). I ask that if you already have a significant stash of fluff, please don't enter these contests. We are primarily hoping to help out those IN NEED.

Here's how it works:
You must be a follower of this blog via Google Friend Connect.
You must also be a fan of Modified Momma Reviews' Facebook.
Each month we will have the contest info on this page with a link to the post found on the main page.
Enter the contest with ONE COMMENT under the post.
Once the time limit has been reached Nikki or I will close the contest.
I will email the winner and they will have 24 hrs to respond before we choose an alternate winner.

  2. We struggled through CDing our first born with cheap gerber prefolds and plastic pants. (You know, the foam stuffed prefolds and pull-up styled vinyl or plastic covers - try getting those on an infant lol) Those prefolds are now complete garbage and I'm trying to build a decent inexpensive stash for our second child whenever we save few extra dollars here and there. I've got 3 months to go! I'm not picky, I'll use prefolds/fitteds & covers, pockets, AI2's, AIO's... whatever gets my child diapered!

  3. I've got 5 month old twins and I'm slowly building our cloth diaper stash. I initially bought Gerber prefolds with Thirsties Duo Wraps, but they leak EVERY time. Diapers for twins are expensive, so cloth diapering helps us save big, but I'm getting sick of all the leaks we've been having. I need to build my stash with better diapers asap!

  5. I have two girls in diapers. I have been using both CDs and disposables. I only have a few cloth diapers but would like to go cloth full time. I first started CD'ing bc I saw someone selling them used for only $5/each. I bought 5. These 5 diapers are saving me 5 diapers a day.lol I'd like to build my stash so I dont have to wash diapers every day. Thanks for offering to help.

  6. We are currently CD our little one with the few CD we have. I have been fortunate enough to have won two diapers and to have won a giftcard which went to two more diapers. I am constantly doing laundry just so I can keep him in his CD. He gets a terrible rash when in sposies. I am currently out of work and with only one income we are finding it very difficult to build out little stash. Thank you for the opportunity and thank you for offering help. Bless you guys both!

  7. We made the switch to cloth diapers in the beginning of December. I have two little ones in diapers (23 months and 5 months). My 5 month old goes through at least 12 diapers a day and I try to hold off on changing my 23 month old more than 7 times a day. I was lucky to get a gift card for Christmas for me, which I spent on 2 new diapers for the kids. I too, like everyone else do laundry every day...it gets to be a lot and is taking my precious time away from my kiddos. We also only have one income and have many loan bills. Anything helps. This is a great idea. Thanks for offering your help.

  8. I think what you are doing is amazing. When I found out I was pregnant, both my husband and I quit our jobs and moved back to the US so I could give birth here and be with my family. We are both still out of work, more than nine months later. My son is five months old and has been exclusively cloth diapered (well, after his cord fell off). The only reason we've been able to do it is because we saved and we've done it on a budget: exclusively using prefolds and covers (most of which have been seconds or preloved).

Anyway, whatever you give is amazing and I am sure the winner will feel so lucky! Again, thanks so much and I hope someone truly in need will win.

  9. i would love to win this we are currently expecting our first baby and plan to cloth diaper. I was lucky and have won three so far and plan to buy a few more but with not knowing what's going to work for us and what's not i'd love to have some more diapers on hand to try out our cloth diapering experience and go from there :)

  10. I am wanting to switch from disposable to cloth, but my hubby doesn't want me to spend all the up front money. My son is 10 months old and we have used every brand of disposable diapers out there and have had so many problems from leaks to really awful diaper rashes to the ones I just got that fit him well but, is now giving him welts on the sides of his legs. I have entered every give a way I can fine, and have emailed many companies to try and get some help. (my hubby lost his job the day I was induced, we had to move for another job, his hr got cut there, then we had to move in with my parents and now he finally has a very good, stable job and now we can finally start to catch up). So this could be huge for us.

  11. I would LOVE to win this! I am a full-time student and single mom to a 6 year old with a little boy due in 7 weeks. SO left over the holidays and I'm doing this all on my own. Dd was allergic to every brand of disposables I could find, so I'm determined to cloth diaper this one to save money, the environment, and the little one's tush! <3

  13. Winning a diaper would be a major blessing. Our stash was never big and we weren't able to spend a lot to get good quality dipes so half of them are now falling a part. We are trying to save up for more but haven't been able too yet. Lol its a catch 22, we have to buy sposies to supplement our stash and so can't get new cloth.

  14. I am currently trying to start cloth diapering. I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old. We have some prefolds that someone cut and put velcro on and covers that don't stay velcroed and one fuzzi bunz that my cousin donated to us. I am trying to make our cloth diapers, but it's not as easy as i thought it would be. My hubby is all for the idea but he's gone to basic training and i'm currently going back to school so it's kind of hard for us to fork out the cash. We'd love to have another diaper to add to our "stash" to help get us on our Cloth diapering legs.
    thanks

  15. I have four kids. Two in disposable diapers right now. I'm also pregnant with baby number 5, due in early June. We are very slowly building our stash (from ebay cheap via China) because financially we just can't shell out $200 on a bulk purchase. We are right on the bubble of the poverty level, I'm running out of diapers and won't be able to get any more before I run out. (Sad, I know) So, any I get will only help build up my stash. I've got 6 so far (that's three diapers a day for the two that are in diapers now, LOL). *Sigh* Winning this would be a great help! Thank you so much for this wonderful idea and giveaway!

  16. I think I should win because I just became a mother of 2. My daughter was born 11 days ago and I have a 22 month old son. Both of my children are in diapers and the cost of disposables is outrageous. The economy has hit us hard and we are trying to find as many ways to save money as possible. In the process I am trying to convert to cloth diapers. The only downfall is the start up cost. If I win this it will help us out tremendously.

  17. I think this is amazing! You girls rock! Right now I only have 5 cloth diapers that I worked hard and won on blog giveaways. I do have 3 on their way in the mail that only costed $5 each shipped (from ebay), because its all we can afford! (i hope they are okay quality) :( So I only have 8. I am so badly trying to make the full time switch to cloth! it is hard because we are a family of 3 surviving on one income, and we have many bills! Thanks again for this giveaway! I follow via GFC and on FB (Elizabeth McCarthy)

  18. I would love to try cloth diapering. I'm really into doing what's eco-friendly and good for my family, and I think that cloth diapering is a great way to not only do what's best for the environment and my family, but also save money in the long run and reduce our household waste.

Money is a little tight for us right now. We're expecting our first child, a daughter, in 6 weeks and I have had to quit my job because of pregnancy complications that I had earlier on. I am on partial bed rest for a few more weeks, and then we can safely have Gracie! :)

I have been trying to win cloth diapers in giveaways a lot! Lol. So far, no luck. But I definitely hope that we can try it with our daughter. It just seems better in every way.

Thank you so much for an amazing giveaway! It's really nice of you to do this, even if I don't win! Lol :P

  20. Hi My name is Priscilla I have a 3 month old Boy and My Husband and i just decided that i not go back to work and be a stay at home mom. We are very happy with that decision, however its a major financial sacrifice. We just did our budget and noticed that we did not even budget for diapers. So we are very much considering clothe diapers, but start up is a bit expenive. So winning this would be a great help
